The Democratic Party of Korea on the 12th said, "There must be accountability for the destruction of evidence of insurrection that turned Yongsan into a grave," adding, "Destroying evidence of insurrection and obstructing the next government's operation is a clear criminal act. The police must hold accountable those responsible for turning Yongsan into a wasteland through thorough investigation."

Democratic Party of Korea spokesperson Jo Seung-rae stated during a briefing this morning that "Former Presidential Secretary Jeong Jin-seok has been officially booked on charges of ordering the destruction of presidential office computers," as he said this.

He noted, "The evidence that Yongsan, like a grave, was not a simple mistake but an overt destruction of evidence and an obstruction of the next government's administration has emerged," adding, "It is even said that there were plans to mobilize the Defense Security Command, which was at the center of the insurrection incident."

He continued, "The Yoon Seok-yeol government, which abused the military under the emergency martial law on Dec. 3, has continued to misuse the military for personal gain even after being dismissed," stating, "Those who have behaved shamelessly until the last moment must be held accountable."

Spokesperson Jo highlighted, "The Democratic Party had already received reports of the order to destroy the presidential office computers during the presidential election period and warned to stop the destruction of evidence, but the presidential office explained at the time that the Democratic Party's claims were false and that they were taking all necessary actions legally," asking, "Is it a legal procedure to destroy a functioning computer?"

He added, "Despite all the evidence being laid out before them, Yoon Seok-yeol stubbornly claimed he never ordered the arrest of members of the National Assembly," saying, "The police must hold accountable those responsible for turning Yongsan into a wasteland through thorough investigation."

Spokesperson Jo also mentioned on that day, "We will accelerate the swift supplementary budget formulation and revisions to the Commercial Act," stating, "There is a need for a rapid policy push for genuine economic recovery."
