Lee Hyeong-il, acting Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, said, "Inflation is the top priority for people's livelihoods, and we will mobilize all government capabilities to stabilize consumer prices. We will announce measures to stabilize prices as soon as possible."

On the morning of the 12th, the Vice Minister chaired a meeting at the Government Complex Sejong to review the inflation situation. The meeting included representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Fair Trade Commission.

The Vice Minister evaluated, "Although the recent consumer price inflation rate appears stable at around 2%, the price level is high due to inflation accumulated over the past several years, and the rising costs of food products still continue to be a significant burden on low-income and middle-class households."

During the meeting, relevant ministries closely examined the current inflation status, supply and demand conditions, and the causes of price increases for items such as agricultural, livestock, and seafood products, processed foods, dining out, oil products, and public utility fees, and discussed countermeasures.

The Vice Minister stated, "Based on the discussed matters, we plan to announce related measures as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, the government decided to resolve supply and demand instability for Brazilian chicken meat, which had been halted due to the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (AI) in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, through 'regionalization of imports.'

The government is currently announcing an administrative notice for the amendment and establishment of import sanitation conditions that allow the importation of chicken meat produced in regions of Brazil where AI has not occurred, and plans to cooperate to ensure that imports can be restarted immediately from the 21st.
