The People Power Party reportedly appointed Lee Jong-bae, a four-term member, as the Chairperson of the Special Committee for Personnel Hearing to vet the nomination of Kim Min-seok for Prime Minister on the 11th.
The remaining Commissioner appointments are expected to be finalized after the election of the next floor leader, which is scheduled for the 16th. According to the Personnel Hearing Act, the National Assembly must complete the personnel hearing within 15 days from the receipt of the personnel hearing request and finish the entire National Assembly review process within 20 days.
The review deadline for Kim's nomination is the 29th of this month, and within the People Power Party, there is reportedly a consideration for holding the personnel hearing over two days, on the 22nd and 23rd.
Previously, President Lee Jae-myung nominated Kim as the first Prime Minister candidate on the 4th and submitted the personnel hearing request to the National Assembly the day before.
