Newly appointed Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, Moon Shin-hak, noted regarding the establishment of the Ministry of Climate and Energy, "I will work closely with the National Planning Committee and the Minister, keeping in mind that it must be closely connected to industry, trade, and policy."

At the inauguration ceremony held at the Sejong Government Complex on the 11th, Vice Minister Moon emphasized, "I understand that there is great interest among the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy staff regarding the establishment of the Ministry of Climate and Energy, but this is absolutely not an issue to be confused or anxious about."

He said, "Climate and energy issues are among the most urgent matters that must be promoted and resolved, and they are included in the (Presidential) commitments in the context of fostering energy as a new growth industry."

He added, "My return as Vice Minister signifies that we must ensure the implementation of essential energy commitments and policies related to the economy and industry." This reflects a determination to faithfully promote President Lee's policies regarding the Ministry of Climate and Energy and the expansion of renewable energy.

Vice Minister Moon expressed confidence that the next five years represent a last chance to fundamentally transform our economy, which is facing a serious crisis, and stated his commitment to work towards the administration's core vision of 'growth.'

He remarked, "The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy must be the greatest support to the President, and we believe we can do it," and emphasized, "The Ministry must take responsibility and deliver results for the future of Korea."

He also stated, "We need to pursue aggressive and creative industrial policies that can respond to the destructive industrial policies of competitor countries," adding, "We must improve the industrial structure through the spread of industry artificial intelligence and enhance productivity in manufacturing while uncovering future growth opportunities."

Meanwhile, Vice Minister Moon also emphasized, "I will ensure that no colleagues who do their best in the process of working will be harmed." He has faced difficulties, including being subject to investigation during the Moon Jae-in administration's nuclear phase-out policy. He was only confirmed innocent last year, alleviating the charges against him.

He remarked, "I was reinstated after being imprisoned, charged, receiving a guilty verdict at the first trial, and acquitted by the Supreme Court, and now I have returned as Vice Minister after retirement," adding, "I believe this signifies that there are still duties I must fulfill for the country." He pledged to approach his work with the determination that it is the last duty of his life.
