The People Power Party's Party Affairs Audit Committee held its first meeting on the morning of the 11th, presided over by Committee Chairperson Yu Il-jun, and started a full-scale audit of the related issue.

It is reported that the Party Affairs Audit Committee initially confirmed the facts based on basic materials.

Starting on the 12th, related individuals, including members of the then-emergency measure committee (EMC), will be interviewed for the investigation regarding the candidate replacement. Kim Yong-tae, who was the EMC Chairperson at that time, is also a subject.

The Party Affairs Audit Committee was convened because Chairperson Kim expressed the intent to clarify the truth regarding the 'presidential candidate replacement controversy' while proposing five major reforms for the party's renewal on the 8th.

Chairperson Kim stated, "We will clarify the truth of the process that unjustly sought to replace the party's presidential candidate and impose appropriate responsibility for it," and noted, "As the EMC Chairperson, I will exercise the party affairs audit authority."

At that time, the leadership of the People Power Party attempted to replace Kim Moon-soo, the former People Power Party presidential candidate, with Han Duck-soo, the former prime minister, but it was thwarted by a party members' vote.
