Park Chan-dae, acting party leader and floor leader, mentioned at the National Assembly's strategy meeting that "President Lee Jae-myung instructed the rapid formulation of a supplementary budget," stating, "The Democratic Party of Korea will swiftly discuss with the government and initiate the formation of a supplementary budget of at least 20 trillion won to boost domestic demand and support self-employed individuals and small business owners."

He continued, "We will invigorate the economy by preparing stimulus measures that the public can tangibly feel, such as livelihood recovery grants through regional currency," adding, "Since there are no ruling or opposition parties in front of the people's livelihood, we expect and urge the People Power Party to actively cooperate."

Jin Sung-joon, the Democratic Party of Korea's policy committee chairman, also said, "We hope the government will hurry in preparing for the supplementary budget to be processed during the June provisional National Assembly," adding, "The Democratic Party of Korea views that at least an additional 21 trillion won supplementary budget is needed. The bigger the supplementary budget, the better, as long as financial resources support it."

Chief Jin stated, "We need to focus on projects effective for boosting consumption and recovering livelihoods," and emphasized, "As instructed by the president, priority should be given to supporting vulnerable groups, self-employed individuals, and small business owners."

He mentioned the four livelihood recovery packages proposed by the Democratic Party of Korea, including livelihood recovery consumption coupons for all citizens, coexistence consumption cashbacks, consumption vouchers in eight major fields, and regional currency discount support.

Jin further stated, "Some projects were partially reflected during the first supplementary budget. This time, we request the government to actively review and include them."

He continued, "Compensation for losses to small business owners suffering difficulties due to civil war and aircraft disasters should also be actively reviewed," adding, "The budget to support industrial crisis areas, including the petrochemical and steel industries, must be included."

He also suggested reactivating the Livelihood Public Pledge Promotion Council to the People Power Party. Jin, the policy committee chairman, proposed, "As soon as the new floor leaders of both ruling and opposition parties are elected, I suggest to the People Power Party to reactivate the Livelihood Public Pledge Promotion Council. Let's swiftly handle livelihood bills that have no disagreements."
