Kim Jae-won, former chief spokesman and former secretary to Kim Moon-soo, explained the purpose of the meeting to ChosunBiz, stating, “It was a gesture of gratitude for the support during the presidential campaign as the joint campaign chairman.”

It is reported that Kim Moon-soo will also meet with Sohn Hak-kyu, former Bareunmirae Party leader and Lee Nak-yon, former prime minister, who were joint campaign chairmen.

Since the presidential election defeat, Kim Moon-soo has been maintaining public activities. On the 6th, Kim visited the Seoul National Cemetery in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, and paid tribute by laying flowers and offering incense at the Memorial Tower. Kim Yong-tae, the acting chairman of the People Power Party's emergency response committee, and staff members from the presidential campaign joined him.

Kim also attended the disbanding ceremonies of the party's election strategy committee and the campaign camp in succession, criticizing the damage to democracy within the party and factional divisions.

Kim Moon-soo is drawing a line, stating, “I have no desire to become the party leader” and “It is not the time for position disputes right now.”
