More than 300,000 people agreed to the petition for the expulsion of Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform Party.

According to the National Assembly's public petition website on the 8th, as of 9 a.m., 343,529 people have agreed to the expulsion bill against the legislator. If more than 50,000 people agree within 30 days after the petition is made public, the petition is accepted. Accordingly, a subcommittee is soon expected to review the petition.

The petitioner said, 'The legislator committed verbal sexual harassment depicting violence against women during the third televised presidential candidate debate in front of the public,' and noted, 'I petition for the expulsion of the legislator who violated the law in accordance with Article 155, Clause 16 of the National Assembly Law.'

Article 155 of the National Assembly Law stipulates that a legislator can be disciplined through a review by the Special Ethics Committee for violation of the Code of Ethics for Legislators or the Code of Conduct for Parliamentarians.

According to the Constitution, the expulsion of a legislator requires the agreement of more than two-thirds of all incumbent lawmakers.
