On the 5th, Seo Young-kyo, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, officially declared her candidacy for the next floor leader election, stating, "I will work as a floor leader who effectively conveys the wishes of those on the ground."
Seo noted during her appearance on YTN Radio's "News Fighting" that "there are many tasks to continue my roles regarding special investigations into the rebellion and Kim Keon-hee, as well as legislation to improve people's livelihoods. Thus, I want to run for floor leader."
She added, "The National Assembly will proceed quickly with the special investigation into the rebellion together with both the ruling and opposition parties," and said, "If there are requests related to people's livelihoods, I will do my best to convey them to the government, relay the people's wishes, and align with the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration."
The Democratic Party became the ruling party by winning the 21st presidential election held on the 3rd. It is set to elect a new floor leader on the 13th.
