The People Power Party plans to hold a general assembly on the 5th to decide whether to maintain its emergency committee system for the time being or to hold an early convention.
If an early convention is held, there is interest in whether Kim Moon-soo, the former presidential candidate, will run.
While former candidate Kim has shown no reaction, Kim Jae-won, the former Supreme Council member who served as chief secretary to Kim during the presidential campaign, noted that it is an issue for party members and the public to decide, depending on public opinion.
On YTN Radio's 'News Fighting' that day, former Supreme Council member Kim said, 'Candidate Kim Moon-soo has returned to being an ordinary member and to daily life.' In that sense, Kim noted that former candidate Kim had posted a photo of himself doing pull-ups on Gwanak Mountain the day before, stating, 'Only when party reform efforts progress can a basis for checking the Lee Jae-myung administration to steer it in the right direction be established.'
He further stated, 'There will be various changes within the party during that process, but it depends on where the intentions of the party members and the general public converge,' adding, 'For now, we can only watch.'
Additionally, former Supreme Council member Kim pointed out, 'During the presidential process, there were unexpected individuals who actively supported us, many who dedicated themselves, and also many who gave us a hard time,' noting that party members and the public will judge these matters and mentioning the so-called pro-Yoon mainstream's candidate replacement fracas.
He added that while 'it will become evident in the process of evaluating, judging, and gathering opinions in the future, it is not appropriate for me to say anything now.'
