On the same day, the Democratic Party plans to convene the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee's first subcommittee session to review two amendments to the Court Organization Act, which were referred to the subcommittee after the previous plenary session.

The two amendments to the Court Organization Act are centered on increasing the current number of Supreme Court justices from 14. The bill proposed by Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Yong-min suggests increasing the number of justices to 30, while the bill proposed by Democratic Party lawmaker Jang Kyung-tae aims to increase it to 100.

Previously, the Democratic Party had pushed for the so-called 'Judicial Pressure Act' during the last presidential election but requested its withdrawal after facing opposition.

The bills for which withdrawal was requested at that time included the 'Non-lawyer Supreme Court Justice Appointment Act' proposed by Democratic Party lawmaker Park Beom-gye and lawmaker Jang's 'Thirty Supreme Court Justices Expansion Bill.' While Park withdrew the bill immediately following a request from the election preparation committee, the Supreme Court justice expansion bill was not withdrawn. Notably, the 'expansion of Supreme Court justices' was also included in President Lee's platform.

Meanwhile, as the National Assembly plenary session is scheduled for the 5th, there is speculation that the Supreme Court Justice Expansion Act under review that day might be approved in the full session.
