Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea presidential candidate, on the morning of 4th, when his victory in the 21st presidential election was assured, stated in front of the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul, "A united nation; the president's responsibility is to unite the people. I will never forget the responsibility of the president to unite the people greatly, not as a great ruler. I hope we can create a world of Daedong where we live together harmoniously and share opportunities fairly."

On this day, the candidate announced his new government's agenda as ▲overcoming civil unrest ▲reviving the economy and restoring livelihoods ▲ensuring the safety and lives of the people ▲creating a peaceful Korean Peninsula ▲social integration. In particular, regarding the concept of "integration," he noted, "Our Korean citizens are companions who must respect each other and live together within the Korean community. We will not allow divisions that breed hatred and conflict among us based on gender, region, age, disabilities, ability, regular employment, non-regular employment, corporations and workers. I will ensure we do not allow such divisions to arise."

He stated, "Beyond hatred and conflict, I will surely create a true community where we respect, coexist, and collaborate to live happily together. Even if we may not achieve the perfect Daedong world we dreamed of, I will ensure that neighbors do not feel like enemies they must guard against but rather genuine neighbors they can rely on when needed." He further added, "Even if politics may conflict due to interests and divide the political sphere, the people do not need to divide themselves. The citizens are the owners of this country, and politics are merely workers responsible for the lives of the people. Even if it is unavoidable for the workers to fight among themselves, our Korean citizens do not need to be divided by hatred and animosity, do they?"

The candidate emphasized, "A united nation; the president's responsibility is to unite the people. I will never forget the president's responsibility to unite the people greatly, not as a great ruler. I hope we can create a Daedong world where we live together harmoniously and share opportunities fairly."

He also said, "The temporary difficulties we face can be overcome by our great citizens when we unite. With hope, confidence, and hand in hand with our neighbors, we can overcome anything together. From now on, let us embark on a new beginning. Even if we may have quarreled for a moment, those who do not support us are also citizens of Korea. Regardless of differing positions, thoughts, and the different colors of clothes we may wear for a moment, we are now all the same great citizens of great Korea. Let us go together."

The candidate stated, "I shall not forget for a moment the mission that you have entrusted to me, and I will definitely and assuredly fulfill it without any deviation. What you have yearned for since the 'Night of Insurrection' on Dec. 3 last year until this very moment is, among others, the fact that this country belongs to ordinary citizens. All powers exercised by the president must come from the people and must be used solely for the better lives of the citizens and the bright future of this nation."

He stated, "Only now, six months later, have you finally proven through your vote and exercise of sovereignty that we ourselves are the owners of this country." The candidate continued, "The first mission you entrusted to me, to thoroughly overcome civil unrest and to ensure that military coups, which threaten the citizens with weapons entrusted by the citizens, never occur again, is to restore democracy in this country. It is also to ensure that within this community of democratic republic, our citizens are respected as sovereigns and do not live in hatred and animosity but rather in recognition and cooperation. I will certainly fulfill that mission."

Regarding the recovery of the people's economy, he stated, "From the very moment the candidate is confirmed tomorrow, I will do my utmost to restore your painful lives as quickly and reliably as possible." He also addressed social disasters like the Itaewon disaster, stating, "During the previous period, our citizens had to doubt why the state exists. The state did not even consider its duty to ensure citizens' safety and lives, and failed to fulfill the basic obligations required of it. I will ensure that we create a safe country that perfectly fulfills the primary responsibility of the state to protect the lives and safety of the citizens."

He also mentioned strengthening national security and defense capabilities. The candidate said, "With steadfast defense, I shall effectively exercise deterrence against North Korea. However, winning through conflict is subordinate to winning without fighting, and creating peace without the need for fighting is true security. I will engage in dialogue and communication with North Korea, collaborating in coexistence and joint prosperity while ensuring that we do not need to fight. I will do my best to stabilize the situation on the Korean Peninsula as rapidly as possible to minimize Korea’s risks and prevent the livelihood from deteriorating due to security issues on the Peninsula."
