The People Power Party noted on the 4th, "We humbly accept the election results and will deeply reflect on their meaning."
Shin Dong-uk, spokesperson for the Central Election Countermeasure Committee, commented immediately after Kim Moon-soo, the presidential candidate, declared his concession, stating, "I thank you for your dedication and hard work shown by the people and party members in order to defend the freedom and democracy of our country."
He said, "I will throw off the vested interests and complacency within us and embark on innovation with determination," adding, "I will restore the trust that has collapsed and be reborn as a capable and responsible party." He further stated, "I will approach the people's livelihood with a more humble attitude, and I will become a strong opposition that protects the people's lives by healing the divided public opinion." He also mentioned, "Today is not the end, but the beginning," affirming, "I will not stop taking responsibility for the people. I will stand by the people until the end."
Shin, the spokesperson, said, "I will silently prepare a better future and a stronger conservative path," adding, "Please watch over our journey of innovation and recovery. Politics for the people will never stop. I will humbly reflect the people's will and will certainly rise together with the people."
He urged President Lee Jae-myung to "unite the divided Korea and achieve national unity," saying, "Be the president of all the people, not 'our' president. The Democratic Party of Korea must also take on the heavy responsibility of managing state affairs as the ruling party."
Shin stated, "Korea is currently facing a crisis akin to a candle in the wind. We must save Korea from the internal and external crisis of a global economic downturn and difficult livelihoods," expressing, "The People Power Party will also cooperate bipartisanly for the sake of national interest in order to make a better Korea."
