The National Election Commission announced that as of 12:52 a.m. on the 4th, the nationwide vote counting rate was reported to be 70% the day after the 21st presidential election.
The vote percentages by candidate were as follows: Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party of Korea received 48.53%, Kim Moon-soo of the People Power Party received 42.94%, and Lee Jun-seok of the Reform Party received 7.48%.
According to exit polls from the three major terrestrial broadcasters (KBS, MBC, SBS) the previous day, the nationwide vote percentages were predicted to be Lee Jae-myung 51.7%, Kim Moon-soo 39.3%, and Lee Jun-seok 7.7%.
The broadcasters reported around 11:40 p.m. the previous day that Lee was "certain to be elected."
The official voting for the 21st presidential election ended at 8 p.m. the previous day, with a nationwide turnout of 79.4%.
