The People Power Party announced this around 12:30 p.m. on the same day.

Candidate Kim departed for the party headquarters in Yeouido around 50 minutes past midnight after watching the counting broadcast at his home in Bongcheon-dong on the afternoon of the previous day (3rd).

Initially, it was anticipated that Candidate Kim would leave his home as soon as the outlines of the election defeat became clear. However, after Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea presidential candidate, was announced as 'certain to be elected,' he disclosed the press conference schedule after arriving at the party headquarters in Yeouido.

Earlier, the situation room of the People Power Party, which was held in the National Assembly Library auditorium, fell into a heavy silence as exit polls from the three major broadcasters showed Candidate Kim trailing by more than 10 percentage points.

Thirty minutes into the election broadcast, most of the members, including Kweon Seong-dong, the floor leader, and co-chairs of the campaign committee, Yun Sang-hyun and Kim Gi-hyun, as well as Yun Jae-ok, the head of the election committee, and Jang Dong-hyuk, the situation room head, left their seats.

Ahn Cheol-soo, Yang Hyang-ja, and Kim Hyung-dong remained at the situation room from the start of the counting broadcast until the announcement of Candidate Kim's press conference.
