Former Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo, when the People Power Party's defeat in the 21st presidential election was confirmed, noted on the 4th, if Lee Jae-myung takes power, the party dissolution will be requested due to the rebellion support and the candidate replacement incident, and the party could disappear before the local elections.

On the same day, Hong mentioned on Facebook that the last desperate attempt through Kim Moon-soo was thwarted, it wasn't due to Lee Jun-seok or me.

He said, the reason I left the party I had been in for 30 years was that I saw no chance of winning in the presidential election, stating the party already looked like a diseased forest. He added, it was because the party had degenerated into a self-interest group that it was shunned by the public, noting wasn't it Lee Jun-seok who was ousted for all sorts of slander? Wasn't it you who pushed me out through two fraudulent primaries?

Hong also said that the reason he mentioned an upcoming 'Ice Age' was that such interest groups, not communicating with the world and relying only on some far-right YouTube channels catering to the elderly, have no future.

After retiring from politics and leaving the People Power Party following its primary defeat, he said he found it unfortunate that despite Lee Jae-myung being his opponent, he believed he could have won, when the terrestrial broadcaster's exit polls predicted a landslide victory for Lee Jae-myung.

Meanwhile, Yoo Young-ha, a People Power Party lawmaker and a former close aide to former President Park Geun-hye, stated on Facebook, Hong Joon-pyo should stop talking about other parties, and expressed a wish for Hong to focus on golf he enjoys in Hawaii.
