Han Ji-ah, a member of the People Power Party, known as part of the "pro-Han Dong-hoon faction," urged the current leadership to resign on the 4th, following the defeat in the June 3 presidential election, stating, "Now is the time for innovation and reform again."

Han noted on Facebook that day, "We humbly accept the stern judgment of the people," and added, "Our party has disappointed the public so far."

Han said, "We failed to unite against the illegal martial law and did not sever ties with the former president Yoon. During the primary process, we even showed signs of party democracy collapsing due to the leadership’s irrational behavior."

Han continued, "We will definitely remove the outdated forces that bowed to power while ignoring the people's sentiments. We will be reborn as a healthy party that follows principles and seek to regain the lost trust and support of the citizens," adding, "For the people, we will not back down any further."

Members of the "pro-Han faction," considered the "non-mainstream" within the party, are raising their voices for party reform in the wake of the 21st presidential election defeat.

Han Dong-hoon, former leader, stated on Facebook that day regarding the results of the presidential defeat, "The people have delivered a stern order to exit regarding 'illegal martial law' and 'outdated politics defending illegal martial law.'" He emphasized, "It's the last chance to completely dismantle the exhausting outdated politics that only caters to entrenched politicians and establish people-centered politics."

Jin Jong-oh also remarked on Facebook the previous day, "We shamelessly pleaded for a single vote from the people while defending martial law and only touting conservative values," acknowledging the missed opportunity for reform and reflection due to opening the path to those defending martial law, thus missing the golden time for rallying and uniting.
