Out of a total of 44,391,871 eligible voters for this election, 29,071,044 have completed their voting.

This reflects the results of early voting (34.74%) in which 15,423,607 participated from the 29th to the 30th of last month, as well as the votes from overseas citizens, shipboard voting, and voters with registered addresses. The National Election Commission will publicly release the tally of early voting rates and other results on its website starting at 1 p.m.

The current voter turnout is 0.7 percentage points higher than the 64.8% turnout at the same time during the 2022 presidential election.

The highest voter turnout was in Jeonnam (76.0%), followed by Gwangju (74.0%) and Jeonbuk (73.8%). The lowest was in Busan (62.1%), with Daegu and Jeju (63.3%), and Chungnam (63.4%) following. The voter turnout in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi was recorded at 64.9%, 65.0%, and 63.7%, respectively.

Voting will take place on the same day from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 14,295 polling stations across the country for a duration of 14 hours. Unlike early voting, the main voting can only be done at the polling station corresponding to the voter's registered address. The locations of the polling stations can be verified through the voting information pamphlet delivered to each household, the 'voter registration inspection system' at district and city offices, and the polling station finder service available on the National Election Commission’s website.

However, if voters are in line at the polling station by 8 p.m. and receive a waiting number, they will be allowed to vote after the closing time.

Voters must carry a resident registration card, passport, driver's license, youth card, or any government-issued identification with a photo. For mobile identification, stored images cannot be used.

Vote counting is scheduled to begin at approximately 8:30 p.m. at 251 counting stations nationwide. The National Election Commission anticipates that the outlines of the elected candidates will emerge around midnight. However, this timing may be moved up or delayed depending on the vote margin between candidates.
