Starting from the 9th, vehicle registration can be easily completed via mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS) on the 3rd, the 'Next Generation Vehicle Management Information System' will be operated from September to provide an integrated vehicle registration service.
The next generation system has unified the services provided through the existing Car 365 and public portals into Car 365. It is newly built on a cloud basis, enhancing service stability and convenience.
In addition to joint certification, any user can easily access with simple authentication and mobile self-verification. Consequently, the vehicle registration service, previously available only on personal computers, can now be conveniently handled on smartphones or tablets.
Various expenses incurred during vehicle registration can be paid via credit card, mobile phone, and other methods. By introducing electronic forms, paper-based document processes such as power of attorney and transfer certificates have been eliminated. Administrative information is automatically linked to reduce unnecessary document submission. Ten types of civil documents, including the vehicle registration certificate, can also be issued to an electronic document wallet.
Bae So-young, head of the Vehicle Operation Insurance Division at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, noted, “We will do our best to continue enhancing the system to increase public satisfaction.”
