The region that best reflected the national voter sentiment in the 6·3 presidential election was Chungnam and Sejong.
According to exit poll results conducted by KBS, MBC, and SBS, 51.3% of voters in Chungnam and Sejong chose candidate Lee Jae-myung, 39.7% chose Kim Moon-soo, and 8.2% chose Lee Jun-seok. This shows a difference of 0.4 percentage points, 0.2 percentage points, and 0.5 percentage points, respectively, from the national vote percentages of the three candidates (51.7%, 39.5%, 7.7%), marking the closest figures to the expected national vote percentages compared to other regions.
The exit poll results for the Chungcheong region, including Chungnam and Sejong (Daejeon, Chungnam and Sejong, Chungbuk), generally showed expected vote percentages similar to the national sentiment. In Daejeon, candidate Lee Jae-myung received 51.8%, candidate Kim Moon-soo got 38.3%, and candidate Lee Jun-seok garnered 8.8%. In Chungbuk, candidate Lee Jae-myung received 51.1%, candidate Kim Moon-soo got 40.2%, and candidate Lee Jun-seok obtained 7.9%.
The exit poll on that day was conducted by the 'Joint Prediction Survey Committee (KEP)', established by the broadcasting association and the three terrestrial broadcasters (KBS, MBC, SBS), targeting 80,146 voters from 325 polling stations nationwide. The margin of error for this exit poll is ±0.8 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
