Three broadcasting companies (KBS, MBC, SBS) reported at around 11:15 p.m. on the 3rd, during the live broadcast of the counting for the 21st presidential election, that Lee Jae-myung, the candidate from the Democratic Party of Korea, is likely to be elected with 48.27% support.

MBC was the first of the three broadcasters to report at around 10:45 p.m. that the candidate Lee is likely to be elected. This was with a nationwide counting rate of 20.2%.

Then at around 11:07 p.m., KBS reported that the candidate Lee is likely to be elected, and around 11:15 p.m., SBS projected that the candidate Lee's chances of election are high.

In this presidential election, from the early counting, the victory of the candidate Lee was anticipated. As the counting rate reached 10.64%, the candidate Lee's vote share (45.98%) began to surpass that of candidate Kim (45.58%). This trend has not changed as of 11:28 p.m.

Earlier, the three broadcasters announced the exit poll results immediately after the voting ended at 8 p.m. on the 3rd, showing that candidate Lee Jae-myung received 51.7%, candidate Kim Moon-soo received 39.3%, and candidate Lee Jun-seok from the Reform Party received 7.7%.

This exit poll was conducted by the three major broadcasters through Korea Research, Ipsos Korea, and Hankook Research across 325 polling stations nationwide, targeting about 100,000 people. Although the results of early voting were not reflected, adjustments were made through a separate telephone survey of 11,500 people.
