People Power Party candidate Kim Moon-soo said on the 2nd regarding the so-called 'Jim Rogers false support suspicion' that 'Lee Jae-myung should clarify this directly before the public.'
Candidate Kim noted through social media (SNS) that 'Chairman Jim Rogers clearly stated via email to the domestic media, 'I have never supported anyone,' adding, 'The Lee Jae-myung camp ultimately brought this international disgrace upon itself.'
'They even committed 'global falsehood disclosure,' not just domestic,' he said.
Earlier, the delegation of businesses from the Kaesong Industrial Complex announced on the 29th of last month that Representative Lee Jae-gang of the Democratic Party, the co-head of the international cooperation team for the party's election campaign, stated at a press conference held in the National Assembly that Chairman Rogers supported the candidate. The candidate also wrote on Facebook the day after the press conference, 'I heard of Jim Rogers' support declaration.'
However, a media report revealed that Chairman Rogers did not declare support for the candidate, leading to controversy. Kim Jin-hyang, the chairperson of the Korea Peace Economy Conference, who read out Chairman Rogers' declaration of support for Lee, maintains the position that 'Chairman Rogers' support for candidate Lee Jae-myung is a fact.'
Candidate Kim said, 'The more serious issue is that the initial report stating that Chairman Jim Rogers' declaration of support was false has been deleted,' adding, 'This is an attempt to manipulate public opinion with lies, erase unfavorable reports, and these are the kinds of things happening before capturing power.'
Candidate Kim said, 'If this is already happening, I can only fear what will happen if they actually gain power,' further questioning, 'Is this the Korea that candidate Lee Jae-myung dreams of, where freedom of expression is lost and the media cannot speak the truth?' He stated, 'I will stand with the people to protect a Korea where freedom and truth are alive.'
Co-Chairperson Ahn Cheol-soo also noted, 'If candidate Lee becomes president, Korea will degrade into a 'Republic of Fraud,' adding, 'Whatever the government does in a situation where legislative power is seized will have no sanctions, and national deception will become a daily occurrence.'
Chairperson Ahn commented on the 'Jim Rogers controversy,' stating, 'This is spreading false information, an international diplomatic disaster, and a serious incident that undermines the dignity of Korea.'
He also addressed the Democratic Party's connection between the suspicion of comment manipulation by far-right groups and candidate Kim Moon-soo, stating, 'Bringing in the shadow of past 'Druking' and framing candidate Kim Moon-soo with 'comment manipulation,' I cannot contain my despair as the biggest victim of the Druking incident. Seeing the original manipulating party, the Democratic Party, pushing such an unreasonable agenda, it seems that candidate Kim Moon-soo's reversal is imminent.'
Chairperson Ahn stated in the meantime that the proposals candidate Lee has made during the election process regarding ▲basic income ▲hotel economy theory ▲100 trillion investment in artificial intelligence (AI) are a 'national emotional deception,' asserting that 'His policies, wrapped in populist slogans without numbers, resources, or execution plans, are just design to win votes, not policies for the people.'
