Kim Moon-soo, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, said on the 31st, targeting writer Yoo Si-min, "Former President Kim Dae-jung is a graduate of Mokpo Commercial High School, and former President Roh Moo-hyun is also a graduate of Busan Commercial High School."

Kim made these remarks during a campaign speech at a flower park in Hongcheon County, Gangwon, adding, "Former President Roh Moo-hyun's wife, Kwon Yang-sook, did not complete her commercial high school education."

This is interpreted as an intention to criticize writer Yoo's comments about Kim's wife, Seol Nan-young, on YouTube on the 28th.

Writer Yoo, who served as the Minister of Health and Welfare under the Roh Moo-hyun administration and was the director of the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, commented on Seol, saying, "Kim Moon-soo was an 'academic-origin worker,' a college-graduate worker, who married a 'genuine worker.' So, one can imagine what that relationship would be like," and added, "Through marriage to such a man, one might feel somewhat elevated."

Writer Yoo continued, "The position of being the spouse of a presidential candidate from an influential party is unreachable in Seol Nan-young's life. She could even become the First Lady," further commenting, "So that implies ‘not being in the right mind,’ in that sense."

Writer Yoo apologized the day before for the outcry over his remarks, stating, "If I had used a more courteous and precise expression, I probably would not have received so much criticism. That is my fault."

Meanwhile, Kim announced on Facebook that day, "I will create a society without educational discrimination," and also released a 'TV commercial teaser' titled "I Am Proud of My Family."
