According to the National Election Commission, a total of 13.3 million out of 44.39 million eligible voters have finished voting as of 6 a.m. on the second day of early voting.

The voter turnout is 0.77 percentage points lower than the early voting turnout (30.74%) during the same time frame for the 20th presidential election, which recorded the highest early voting turnout since the introduction of early voting in 2014.

This early voting recorded the highest figure during the same time frame for nationwide elections only up until the previous day. However, today, the voter turnout has decreased compared to the 20th presidential election.

A National Election Commission official noted, "Unlike the last presidential election where early voting was conducted on Friday and Saturday, this election is only taking place on weekdays." If the current trend continues, the final early voting turnout is expected to be lower than that of the 20th presidential election (36.93%).

The turnout is 3.44 percentage points higher than that of the same time frame during the early voting for last year's 22nd general election (26.53%).

The region with the highest voter turnout so far is Jeonnam at 50.58%. Following are Jeonbuk (47.26%) and Gwangju (46.08%).

The lowest voter turnout was recorded in Daegu at 21.67%, followed by Busan (26.12%) and Gyeongbuk (27.03%).

In the metropolitan area, the voter turnout was recorded at 29.38% in Seoul, 28.23% in Gyeonggi, and 28.21% in Incheon.

The early voting conducted from the 29th will conclude today. Voting hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and to participate in early voting, individuals must bring identification and visit the early voting site.
