On the 30th, the National Election Commission stated in a press release, "It is suspected that the voter received a ballot marked by another person and inserted it into an empty return envelope to cause confusion at the polling place, and we plan to request an investigation."

Earlier, around 7:10 a.m. on the same day, a report was received at 112 from an election observer at the early voting site at the Community Center in Seongbok-dong, Suji District, Yongin City, stating, "A ballot marked for candidate Lee Jae-myung came out folded in half from the return envelope."

This report was made immediately after a voter informed the election observer that a ballot paper was found within their return envelope. The police who arrived at the scene handed the case over to the election commission and withdrew.
