The People Power Party officially announced on the 29th that it is launching an investigation team regarding the allegations surrounding Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea presidential candidate's family. The plan is to clarify the facts regarding parts that the Democratic Party claims are false, as well as thoroughly investigate the source of gambling funds.

Jang Dong-hyuk, a member of the People Power Party and director of the election campaign committee, held an emergency press conference that day and noted, "It is natural to verify public officials, especially presidential candidates," adding that "there is a fact that the Suwon District Court confirmed a summary order (fine of 5 million won) regarding the habitual gambling and exhibition of obscene materials case of Lee Jae-myung candidate's eldest son, Lee Dong-ho, on Nov. 26, 2024."

He emphasized, "I requested the Ministry of Justice to submit the summary order decision document, but they replied that it has not been submitted to the National Assembly. However, since there is a precedent for the summary order decision document regarding Lee Jae-myung candidate's drunk driving case being submitted during the 20th presidential election in October 2021, it must be submitted this time as well."

Jang also stated, "The sexual hate speech and gambling issues of Lee Jae-myung candidate's eldest son are essential matters for verifying a leader's morality and integrity," adding that "the People Power Party will form a family corruption investigation team to clarify all allegations, including those that the Democratic Party claims are false."

In response to the Democratic Party's pushback, calling it "an old incident that has already been resolved" and "false information," Jang pointed out, "There are not many citizens who know the fact that it has been definitively confirmed as guilty by the court. If the Democratic Party claims it is false information, they need to specify which parts are false. Simply framing it as 'a settled matter' or 'false information' is a strategy to evade the essence of the issue."

Jang stated, "The investigation team will first clarify reasonable suspicions, such as the source of gambling funds," adding that "if necessary, the team can continue to operate after the election."

Presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo also announced plans to begin a 90-hour non-stop campaign without returning home starting the 30th until the election ends.

Jang revealed, "In the final stretch, I will focus our election strategy on Kim Moon-soo candidate's life, policies, and achievements through concentrated campaigning in Gyeonggi-do and the metropolitan area."

Jang emphasized, "It is not appropriate for all issues to get sucked into the discussion of unification," stating that "Kim has left many achievements as the two-term governor of Gyeonggi-do, which sharply contrasts with Lee Jae-myung candidate."

He continued, "In a situation where various controversies surrounding Lee Jae-myung candidate's eldest son have arisen, focusing on the Gyeonggi-do region can maximize Kim candidate's competitiveness," proposing to target the 'moderate voter sentiment in the metropolitan area.'
