People Power Party candidate Kim Moon-soo will vote early on the 29th, the first day of early voting, in Incheon Gyeyang-gu, the electoral district of Democratic Party of Korea candidate Lee Jae-myung.
Shin Dong-uk, the chief spokesperson for candidate Kim Moon-soo, met with reporters on the 28th and noted, "Incheon was selected strategically, holding the significance of being the starting point of a miracle that turned the tide just before the communization of South Korea at the verge of the Incheon landing and ended the Korean War." He added, "Gyeyang is also the electoral district of candidate Lee Jae-myung, hence it has symbolic significance."
The spokesperson said, "I believe that early voting will serve as a major turning point, and although the publication of public opinion poll results will be prohibited for the next six days, I expect the upward trend to continue daily."
He evaluated the previous night's third TV debate, saying, "Candidate Kim spoke calmly about what he wanted to say," and added, "I think candidate Lee Jae-myung was similarly busy avoiding issues."
However, regarding Reform Party candidate Lee Jun-seok's mention of inappropriate expressions, claiming it to be statements made by Lee Jae-myung's son during the debate, he said, "That's an issue Lee Jun-seok needs to explain," while adding, "It was an inappropriate remark." He also responded to Lee Jun-seok's proposal for an additional public debate with Lee Jae-myung, saying, "It's not possible since candidate Lee Jae-myung has not agreed."
The spokesperson mentioned the possibility of unification between candidate Kim and candidate Lee Jun-seok, stating, "It seems we've passed the deadline for political engineering, but we believe that our refusal to hand this country over to candidate Lee Jae-myung in pursuing the historical cause is the way to respond to the people's request." However, he added, "I think the phase of negotiations and contacts beyond sincerely appealing to candidate Lee Jun-seok has passed, and we will go out for early voting tomorrow."
