Kim Moon-soo, the presidential candidate from the People Power Party, confirmed that he had a closed-door meeting with Lee Nak-yon, the senior advisor of the New Future Democratic Party, on the 26th to discuss election coalition measures between the two parties.

Nam Pyeong-oh, the secretary-general of the New Future Democratic Party, noted in a call with ChosunBiz on the same day that "the atmosphere has been created to discuss specific coalition measures at the party-to-party level due to the meeting the previous day."

The People Power Party is expected to continue practical discussions on coalition measures with the New Future Democratic Party. This is interpreted as an attempt to consolidate the ‘anti-Lee Jae-myung’ vote among centrist and non-partisan voters through the coalition with the senior advisor.

In particular, Lee Nak-yon and the New Future Democratic Party have been demanding the resolution of the relationship with former President Yoon Seok-yeol as a condition for coalition, but recently, the former president left the People Power Party.

The candidate also stated on the 25th that he aims to pursue amendments to party rules to completely prevent the president's intervention in party affairs.

Meanwhile, Lee Nak-yon is scheduled to hold a press conference at 11 a.m. on the same day at the New Future Democratic Party headquarters. It is expected that he will propose the 'formation of a joint government' to Kim Moon-soo's camp and emphasize the need for constitutional amendments.
