Lee Jun-seok, the presidential candidate from the Reform Party, noted that the progressive camp is slandering him through clever editing and stated that he would take legal action if they do not acknowledge their wrongdoing.

The candidate said on the 26th via social media, "Some people are spreading stories like 'I never received a scholarship from President Roh Moo-hyun, only to later say that I did.'"

The candidate explained, "The 'Presidential Science Scholarship,' a national scholarship during President Roh Moo-hyun's era, and the 'Roh Moo-hyun Scholarship' established after President Roh's passing are completely different stories. I received a scholarship certificate from the state during President Roh's era, but I have never received the Roh Moo-hyun Scholarship from the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation."

He continued, "They are cleverly mixing these two stories and slandering me through articles suggesting that I have changed my statement," and added, "I plan to take legal action if this is not corrected."

Some supporters of Lee Jae-myung from the Democratic Party of Korea pointed out, "Lee Jun-seok claimed he never received the Roh Moo-hyun Scholarship, but now that the election is here, he is saying he did, trying to use Roh Moo-hyun's spirit."

Former Justice Party leader Cheon Ho-seon, who served as the senior secretary for public relations in President Roh Moo-hyun's administration, criticized, "It disgusts me that (Lee Jun-seok) keeps lying as if President Roh made special remarks," and recalled that on the 23rd, Lee had said, "President Roh personally gave me a scholarship certificate and said, 'Study hard so that one day you can do something great for the country and contribute.'"

In response, Lee Jun-seok stated that he never fabricated any statements and demanded, "Correct this."
