The election countermeasure committee of the Democratic Party of Korea's Gong Myoung legal support team and the fake news response team noted that in the afternoon, candidate Kim stated that he had publicly disseminated false information suggesting that 'Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party, is delaying the trial process with a trick.'

Earlier, candidate Kim posted on Facebook on the 1st, saying, 'Candidate Lee has never once regretted his mistakes, but has only come up with schemes to mislead the public with lies upon lies,' and added, 'While claiming to be 'innocent,' he has been delaying the trial with all sorts of tricks.'

They stated, 'Candidate Lee has not intentionally delayed the trial, and on December 17 of last year, Choi Dae-yeob, head of the Court Administration Office, responded to the People Power Party’s assertion that the trial was being intentionally delayed by saying, 'It is not easy to evaluate that way.'

They continued, 'Candidate Kim publicly disseminated false information related to the inter-Korean remittance at the Kwanhun Forum held around May 10, stating that Deputy Governor Lee Hwa-young carried out inter-Korean remittance operations illegally under the direction of then-Governor Lee Jae-myung, while the legality of the inter-Korean remittance operations pertains to violations of foreign exchange management laws, and the court has not even judged whether candidate Lee Jae-myung was involved or participated.'

They argued, 'Candidate Kim's remarks made during his campaign speech at the Seomun Market in Daegu around 5:30 p.m. on May 12 also fall under the category of disseminating false information, as he spread rumors such as impersonation statements and Daejang-dong remarks without any fact-checking in an official campaign setting.'

They stated, 'Candidate Kim's actions constitute an incident in which false information was publicly disseminated as if it were true with the intent to prevent competing candidate Lee from winning in the critical period leading up to the presidential election,' and noted that this directly violates Article 250, Section 2 of the Public Official Election Act, which aims to ensure the fairness of elections.

They added, 'We report candidate Kim's illegal acts to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency and urge rapid and thorough investigations by the investigative agency.'
