Lee Jun-seok, the Reform Party presidential candidate's side claimed that the 'party authority-transaction unification proposal theory' has emerged, indicating signs of renewed conflict within the People Power Party.
Lee Jun-seok, the Reform Party candidate, wrote on Facebook on the 22nd, "Many people are giving unnecessary comments about political engineering unification stories, so I have set up call blocking on all my phones."
This remark was interpreted as strengthening the claims made earlier by Lee Dong-hoon, head of the Reform Party's election strategy committee, who revealed the 'party authority-transaction theory.'
The Director General said on Facebook the previous day, "Recently, officials from the People Power Party have been calling a lot to suggest unification with this candidate. Most of them are from the pro-Yoon (pro-Yoon Suk-yeol) camp," and claimed, "These individuals say things like 'We'll give you the party authority if you unify,' and 'Come in and take over the party.'"
In response, the pro-Han (Han Dong-hoon) camp immediately raised the 'responsibility theory' and demanded the resignation of the pro-Yoon camp.
Former Representative Han Dong-hoon wrote on Facebook that day, "There has been a revelation from another party that pro-Yoon is said to have promised to hand over the party authority of our People Power Party, but they have not even issued a stance denying the truth of this."
He continued, "This presidential election should become a venue for innovation to eliminate such pro-Yoon old practices."
Representative Park Jeong-hoon said on CBS Radio, "It is inevitable that the procedure for the resignation of pro-Yoon will proceed along with the resignation of former President Yoon Suk-yeol. That is the flow of the times."
In response, the party's election committee and pro-Yoon inclined lawmakers are drawing the line by saying that there is no substance. Chief Spokesperson Shin Dong-uk responded to related questions that day, saying, "I don't even know who the pro-Yoon lawmakers are, so how can we give the party authority?" and stated, "It is hard to understand."
There are interpretations that this is an election strategy by the Reform Party aiming for division within the party. Representative Yoo Sang-beom, in charge of the unification promotion headquarters, pointed out on KBS Radio that "this can be seen as a presidential election strategy to reveal internal divisions within the People Power Party and to highlight the presence of Lee Jun-seok."
Co-chair Yang Hyang-ja wrote on Facebook, "Pro-Yoon transaction, reveal who it is," and stated, "If you cannot reveal, I will consider it a self-produced drama. If you reveal, it will be an opportunity to sort out the pro-Yoon whom you have criticized so much, and if you cannot reveal, Lee Jun-seok and the Reform Party will be expelled."
