Park Chan-dae, Chairperson of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 22nd, "The Daegu-Gyeongbuk (TK) region has never changed the party it supports," and added, "If that continues, perhaps the servants and politicians may lose sight of who the owner is."

On the same day, Park noted at a forum hosted by Asia Forum 21 in Daegu Art Park, "If the People Power Party, which has always taken the lead in overcoming the crisis of Korea with conservative values, has not performed its role properly, then you should actively make a judgment about that."

Park asserted, "In the case of Honam, it seems to sometimes strongly show its role as the sovereign," adding, "We were virtually defeated in Honam during the 20th presidential election." In the last 20th presidential election, the then Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung received 86.64% of the votes, while the then People Power Party candidate Yoon Suk-yeol garnered 12.86%.

Park continued, "Honam, having not shown an image of 'unconditionally supporting the Democratic Party,' serves as a strong base for us, but it also feels like a formidable owner to us in the Democratic Party."

Park stated, "Our Democratic Party will do its best to understand and fulfill the hearts of the citizens of Gyeongbuk and Daegu."

He further urged, "It is time for the citizens of Daegu and Gyeongbuk to play a clear role as sovereigns. It is time to show what the true values of conservatism are."
