The Democratic Party of Korea's disability headquarters announced on the 21st that 32,834 disabled individuals and their families in South Gyeongsang Province declared their support for the party's presidential candidate, Lee Jae-myung.

On the same day, disability organizations in South Gyeongsang Province held a press conference in front of the provincial office and said, "The five disability pledges announced by the candidate genuinely reflect the urgent demands on the ground."

Earlier, the candidate announced the disability pledges, which included strengthening customized services for individuals with disabilities, guaranteeing mobility rights for people with disabilities, ensuring rights for people with disabilities and establishing a foundation for community independence, implementing state responsibility for the care of individuals with developmental and mental disabilities, and expanding support for integrated education for discrimination-free growth.

Representatives of disability organizations attended the declaration of support, including Yoon Cha-won, president of the South Gyeongsang Province Disability Independent Living Center Federation, Baek Yeon-yeon, representative of the Didim Disability Human Rights Center, Jo Sun-deuk, president of the Korean Mental Disability Families Association, Kim Young-soon, director of the Shin Chang-yu Disability Independent Living Center, and Yoon Jong-sul, president of the South Gyeongsang Province Disability Parents Association.

Seo Mi-hwa, head of the Democratic Party of Korea's disability headquarters, noted, "This is the time to change the disability policies and services that have been neglected for many years," and added, "With the support of over 32,000 disabled citizens and their families, we will make sure to realize this historic opportunity to fundamentally change the lives of people with disabilities."
