Kim Moon-soo, the People Power Party presidential candidate, said on the 21st that he would also consider including '100% general public opinion polls' in the merger method with Lee Jun-seok, the candidate from the Reform Party, based on the 'anti-Lee Jae-myung alliance.'
On the same day, Kim visited Hwajeong-dong in Deogyang-gu, Goyang City, where he participated in rice planting with young farmers and later spoke to reporters regarding specific merger proposals.
When asked, 'Is there a possibility of merging through a 100% general public opinion poll?' he replied, 'I will keep all possibilities open.'
Kim stated, 'There are various discussions on what Lee Jun-seok wants, but I will do my best for the merger. Among various methods, I will significantly consider the methods that Lee Jun-seok prefers.'
Regarding whether he is considering a unified cabinet with Lee Jun-seok, former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon, and former Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo if he is elected president, he emphasized, 'If it is a way to defeat candidate Lee Jae-myung, I will do everything and dedicate everything to ensure victory.'
However, when asked about the deadline for the merger, he said, 'I cannot set the date as I please,' and hesitated.
When criticized for a lack of sincerity in the merger process with former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo due to the controversy over 'changing positions,' Kim stated, 'In the history of Korean politics, members all voted. I consider it the most democratic and the most dramatic merger,' and continued, 'After going through that process, I am proud to be the candidate for the party and its members.'
He added, 'However, Lee Jun-seok is still there, and the aftermath of the merger has not healed yet,' and emphasized, 'I will work more maturely in these areas and dedicate everything to prevent the dictatorship of Lee Jae-myung through genuine merger.'
Regarding former President Yoon Suk-yeol's first public appearance after his removal to watch a movie dealing with election fraud allegations, he commented, 'He has resigned from the presidency and left the party,' adding, 'I think it is inappropriate to talk about watching movies.' He continued, 'Isn't it good to watch many movies and meet many people? It seems inappropriate to say that watching movies will hurt our support.'
