Kang Hoon-sik, director of the Democratic Party of Korea election countermeasures committee, noted on the 20th, "This presidential election is a confrontation between the 'big tent for national integration' embracing ideology, gender, and generations and the 'rebellion tent' that gathers extreme right forces."
On the same day, Kang noted at the 5th general headquarters meeting held at the central party headquarters, "The conclusion of this election will determine whether national integration will end the rebellion or if the rebellion will continue with Yoon again."
He said, "The national integration big tent 'Myung Tent' led by candidate Lee Jae-myung is unfolding." This referred to the recent situation where Kim Sang-wook, who left the People Power Party, joined the Democratic Party, and former lawmakers Kim Yong-nam and Her Eun-a joined.
Kang stated, "Former National Assembly Vice Speaker Lee Seok-hyun and former lawmaker Moon Byeong-ho have also returned, and not only former Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo but also supporters of former President Park Geun-hye have publicly declared their support," adding, "This is not a declaration of support but a declaration of integration. It is an appeal that we must stop the division between conservatives and progressives to achieve the integration and crisis resolution of a divided South Korea."
He pointed out, "But what about the People Power Party? The government of Yoon Seok-youl, which branded opposing citizens as anti-state forces and ultimately resorted to martial law, has only changed its name to the Kim Moon-soo campaign committee."
He also said, "The 'Baekgoldan (anti-communist youth group)' Kim Min-jeon, 'disguised resignation' Seok Dong-hyun, 'rebellion planner's lawyer' Choi Gi-sik, 'rebellion supporter Korea Defense Reserve Generals Association' Kim Geun-tae, and key members loyal to Yoon, along with Jeon Kwang-hoon’s unit, are at the center of the camp, responsible for the rebellion that tried to divide the people to maintain power."
Kang also encouraged overseas citizens to participate in voting until the 25th. He stated, "Voting for overseas citizens began today. I urge you to rally around the presidential candidate for national integration who will unite the divided South Korea."
