"To be honest, I didn't want to come here. I couldn't agree with our party's ambiguous stance on martial law and impeachment that contradicts my conscience and political philosophy. However, we cannot just sit back and watch the country collapse."
Han Dong-hoon, former representative of the People Power Party, appealed for support for presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo on the 20th, saying, "We must prevent the dangerous country that Lee Jae-myung will bring."
On this day, Han, the former representative, appeared at Gwangalli Beach in Busan, wearing a campaign outfit with 'Candidate No. 2' written on it, alongside lawmakers Park Jeong-ha, Ahn Sang-hoon, Woo Jae-jun, Jeong Seong-guk, and Jeong Yeon-wook, all of whom are friendly to the faction. He ventured out for individual campaigning without joining the central party's election committee. The campaign outfit worn by Han did not have the name of presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo.
Earlier, Han, who faced off against candidate Kim in the final primary, has been demanding that Kim change his position on apologies for martial law and opposition to impeachment, and draw a line with extreme forces such as former President Yoon Suk-yeol's couple and the Liberty Unification Party.
Han noted on this day, "You might have been disappointed to see the People Power Party being swayed by extreme right-wing YouTubers," and appealed to the public in Busan, which has turned away, saying, "Let's trust each other and work together to block the dangerous Lee Jae-myung forces."
Han emphasized, "The People Power Party will eventually cross the sea of impeachment and martial law in the way I am talking about," adding, "We will definitely cross this sea and save the party from being swayed by extreme right-wing YouTubers and forces."
Following the news of Han's campaign, crowds gathered at the scene, causing congestion.
At the campaign site, he met with reporters and said, "The situation is too urgent to remain still, so I launched my campaign," emphasizing, "I will go to places that candidate Kim is not visiting to meet with the people and create a synergy effect to block the dangerous world of Lee Jae-myung."
Regarding the party's request to join the election committee, he said, "It's not really an important matter," adding, "(Although I haven't joined the committee) I am working harder than anyone else to prevent Lee Jae-myung's 'No-show-driven growth,' '120 won economy,' and 'judicial coup.' This is the real election campaign."
He stated that three things must be achieved to boost approval ratings, saying, "Big tents are good, and coalitions are important, but ultimately, if the three principles I've mentioned are not prioritized, that big tent will become 'pro-Yoon (pro-Yoon Suk-yeol) big tent' or 'Liberty Unification Party big tent.'"
Meanwhile, Song Seok-jun, a member of the 'Han Dong-hoon faction' (three-term, Gyeonggi Icheon), officially joined as the chairperson of the National Public Sympathy and Communication Special Committee of the party on this day.
