In the multi-candidate contest for the next presidential election, a poll showed that Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate, maintained the lead with over 50% support.
The polling firm Realmeter conducted a survey on the suitability of candidates for the next presidential election at the request of the Energy Economic Newspaper from 14th to 16th, targeting 1,509 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, with results released on the 19th (with a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of ±2.5 percentage points).
Looking at the support rates, Lee Jae-myung recorded 50.2%, Kim Moon-soo from the People Power Party received 35.6%, and Lee Jun-seok from the Reform Party achieved 8.7%.
Compared to the previous survey, Lee Jae-myung's support decreased by 1.9 percentage points, while Kim Moon-soo and Lee Jun-seok increased by 4.5 percentage points and 2.4 percentage points, respectively.
In a hypothetical binary matchup, Lee Jae-myung was tallied at 54.3% and Kim Moon-soo at 40.4%. If Lee Jae-myung faced Lee Jun-seok, Lee Jae-myung would have 51.4% and Lee Jun-seok 30.0%.
The results of a question regarding whether voters intended to continue supporting their chosen candidate until the election showed that 82.3% responded that they would "continue to support".
In the preference survey for the ruling power in the next presidential election, 55.6% supported "the opposition's change of power, such as the Democratic Party," while 39.5% wanted "the People Power Party and other pro-government forces to extend their rule."
This survey was conducted using a wireless (100%) automated response method. The response rate was 8.4%. For detailed information, please refer to the Central Election Poll Review Committee’s website.
