Koo Joo-wa, the former presidential candidate of the Liberty Unification Party, announced on the 19th that he is supporting Kim Moon-soo, the presidential candidate of the People Power Party, as he withdrew from the presidential candidate position.
The former candidate Koo held a press conference at the party headquarters in Yeouido that day and said, "Today, I declare my decision to revive the Republic of Korea. I will now withdraw from the presidential candidate position."
The former candidate Koo said, "In withdrawing from the presidential candidate position, I declare my support for candidate Kim," adding, "Candidate Kim fought alongside the patriotic forces in Gwanghwamun since the Moon Jae-in administration to protect the Republic of Korea."
He continued, "Candidate Kim is the right person to unite the liberal democratic camp, and I ask you to vote for him as if you are voting for me."
The former candidate Koo, affiliated with the Liberty Unification Party and registered as candidate number 6 in the 21st presidential election, submitted his resignation letter to the National Election Commission the previous day.
