Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate for the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 19th regarding the Seoul Central District Court Chief Judge Ji Gwi-yeon's denial of allegations related to nightlife establishments, "The party will handle that matter based on objective and reasonable grounds."
The candidate revealed this while meeting with reporters after paying his respects at the tomb of Kim Gu in the morning. This was just after the Democratic Party announced it would release photos of Judge Ji entering a nightlife establishment.
The candidate stated, "Yoon Seok-youl is clearly a faction of insurrection. It is obvious insurrectional behavior even a child could see," and added, "The issue is that the main culprits of insurrection are still hidden within state agencies and continue to exercise state power."
He continued, "We must sternly ascertain the truth about acts that violate constitutional order and must hold those responsible firmly accountable, as this is the true starting point of a democratic republic and the first step in realizing popular sovereignty and sovereignty for the people. The People Power Party will never be forgiven by the public for failing to reflect and for supporting insurrectional forces."
Earlier, the Democratic Party's election campaign committee's Insurrection Resolution and Constitutional Protection Task Force announced that Judge Ji denied entering a room salon, and decided to release related photos abruptly.
At 1:50 p.m. that day, it was decided to announce the Democratic Party's position in the campaign briefing room along with the release of the photos.
On the same day, ahead of the trial on insurrection charges against former President Yoon, Judge Ji stated at the Seoul Central District Court, "I am speaking because I think that if I don’t say anything, the trial itself will be hard to gain trust," and completely denied the allegations, saying, "The allegations raised are not true, and I have never even thought about receiving hospitality at such places."
