On the 18th, the People Power Party announced that it would file a counter complaint against Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea presidential candidate, for violating the Public Official Election Act by spreading false facts and for false reporting. This is a counter to Kim Yong-tae, the emergency response chair, who reported Lee Jae-myung for his statement about the coffee cost being 120 won.

On the same day, the co-chairs of the negative campaign team from the People Power Party, Choi Gi-sik and Joo Jin-woo, released a statement criticizing, "Lee Jae-myung's statement about the coffee cost being 120 won is a painful story for small business owners," adding, "What does it mean if this doesn't imply that coffee, which costs 120 won, is sold at a high price?"

They continued, "The Democratic Party acted as if it would eliminate the spreading of false facts under the Public Official Election Act, but now they are in a hurry to file complaints," stating, "Since Lee Jae-myung has led the complaints in the one-party system of the Democratic Party, we will file a counter complaint for false reporting and spreading false facts."

Earlier, on the 16th, during a campaign in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province, Lee Jae-myung emphasized his administrative experience, stating, "When I receive 50,000 won for a chicken and sweat profusely for an hour boiling it, I only end up with 30,000 won, but for a cup of coffee, I can receive 8,000 to 10,000 won, and I found out that the cost is 120 won." In response, small business owners are expressing their objections, saying the statement is out of touch with reality.
