Democratic Party of Korea candidate Lee Jae-myung pledged to transfer HMM to Busan, and Park Soo-young, a member of the People Power Party whose constituency is in Busan, noted on the 16th that 'Lee Jae-myung's style of lying politics has begun again.'
On that day, Park posted on Facebook a message titled 'Lee Jae-myung candidate's habitual dissemination of false information,' stating, 'After the remark from Lee Jae-myung candidate that 'we will transfer HMM to Busan. Employees agreed,' the HMM terrestrial and maritime labor union sent an email to employees stating there was 'no discussion' on that matter, and the management also told the media, 'We have not been informed about the transfer of headquarters to Busan.'
He argued, 'If the positions of HMM management and labor unions are true, then Lee Jae-myung candidate has clearly engaged in the dissemination of false facts in violation of the Public Official Election Act,' claiming, 'Lee Jae-myung candidate, who was effectively convicted for 'I don't know Kim Moon-ki' and 'Baekhyeon-dong is due to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's intimidation,' has committed the same crime again.' He added, 'Is the bill promoted by the Democratic Party that prohibits the punishment of Lee Jae-myung intended to grant immunity for his habitual lies?'
Park also said, 'No matter how much equity the government has, the idea that a private company can be relocated at will is truly a socialist notion.'
