Lee Jae-myung, the candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, saw his approval rating rise to the 50% range. This is interpreted as a result of the alleviation of judicial risk burdens.

Kim Moon-soo of the People Power Party received 31.1%, and Lee Jun-seok of the Reform Party followed with 6.3%. The gap with candidate Lee Jae-myung remains significant.

According to a survey conducted by the polling agency Realmeter at the request of the Energy Economy Newspaper from May 7 to 9, the results of the hypothetical three-way presidential election were reflected.

By support preference, 96.6% of the Democratic Party of Korea supporters and 84.7% of the progressive group supported candidate Lee Jae-myung, while 73.9% of the People Power Party supporters and 58.8% of the conservative group supported Kim.

Among the moderate group, candidate Lee Jae-myung's approval rating was 54.9%, which is more than twice that of Kim Moon-soo, who received 24.3%.

In terms of preference for the ruling powers in the next presidential election, the opposition party, including the Democratic Party of Korea, favored a change of government at 55.8%, while the ruling coalition, including the People Power Party, favored a continuation of the government at 39.2%. Compared to the previous survey, the change of government opinion rose by 4.3 percentage points, while the opinion favoring maintenance of government fell by 3.6 percentage points.

Recently, the prolonged conflict over unification between candidate Kim Moon-soo and candidate Han Duck-soo has led to controversy over candidate replacement, causing public opinion on the continuation of government to deteriorate and a displacement of supporters, resulting in a 4.3 percentage point increase in the change of government opinion compared to the previous week.

This survey was conducted using wireless (100%) automated response methods among 1,508 voters aged 18 years and older nationwide. The response rate was 6.7%. For detailed information, please refer to the Central Election Poll Review Committee's website.
