Rebuilding Korea Party, The Progressive Party, Basic Income Party, and The Social Democratic Party of Korea joined the election campaign committee of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea presidential candidate, on the 11th. This is a follow-up measure to the five-party candidate unification agreement reached on the 9th.

The Democratic Party announced the appointment of Kim Seon-min, acting chairperson of the Rebuilding Korea Party, and Kim Jae-yeon, chairperson of The Progressive Party, Yong Hye-in, chairperson of the Basic Income Party, and Han Chang-min, chairperson of The Social Democratic Party of Korea, as co-chairs of the election campaign committee during a 'real Korea election campaign committee additional appointment.'

Kim Han-na, spokesperson for the election campaign committee, noted that 'ahead of the presidential election on June 3, the five ruling party members, including the Democratic Party, Rebuilding Korea Party, The Progressive Party, The Social Democratic Party of Korea, and Basic Income Party, selected Lee Jae-myung as the candidate for the presidential election and declared their support.' She added, 'Accordingly, we have appointed the leaders of the four parties as co-chairs and assigned individuals from the four parties to the local party election campaign committees, as well as the committees directly under the candidate.'

Additionally, the Democratic Party appointed Lim Gi-taek, former Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), as the chairperson of the National Commission for National Integration.

Kim, the spokesperson, said, 'Mr. Lim, who has served as the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), known as the president of the world seas, is the right person to support Lee Jae-myung's pledge to relocate the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to Busan.' She added, 'This joining is expected to enhance the candidate's status and spread support for him among the citizens of Busan and Ulsan.'
