Jo Seung-rae, the chief spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea Central Election Countermeasures Committee, noted on the 11th regarding the confirmed presidential candidate of the People Power Party, Kim Moon-soo, that "one cannot help but worry about the birth of a hybrid combining the insurrectionist Yoon Suk-yeol and the far-right agitator Jeon Gwang-hoon."

On the same day, Jo noted in a briefing at the central party headquarters that "the People Power Party must cut off its repeated far-right tendencies that turn their backs on the people and run on asphalt." He said, "Candidate Kim is not only a minister of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration but has also received support from the insurrectionist following group for never apologizing for his insurrection, and is a far-right core who has founded a far-right party alongside Jeon Gwang-hoon and shed tears for him."

Earlier, Candidate Kim completed the registration process for the party's presidential candidate at the National Election Commission on the morning of the same day. Although there had been severe conflicts over the party leadership and candidate replacement issues, the previous day's results of the People Power Party's vote among all members led to the defeat of the motion to replace the presidential candidate with former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, restoring his position as the party's presidential candidate.

Jo noted, "If the Yoon Suk-yeol party changes to the Jeon Gwang-hoon party, that would also be misfortune for South Korea," adding, "The People Power Party must not allow itself to run into the arms of far-right forces whenever there is a crisis. I urge the people to judge the leftover elements of the far-right insurrection within the People Power Party and revert it to normal conservatism."
