On the first day of candidate registration for the 21st presidential election, six candidates, including Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, and Lee Jun-seok, the presidential candidate of the Reform Party, completed their registration.
According to the National Election Commission on that day, candidate Lee Jae-myung completed his registration through Kim Yun-deok, the chief of the Democratic Party of Korea's Central Election Committee, and Lim Ho-sun, the deputy chief of the committee.
Candidate Lee Jae-myung reported assets totaling 3 billion 89 million 140 thousand won. He holds an apartment in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, valued at 1.456 billion won as well as deposits totaling 100 million 477 thousand 200 won.
Candidate Lee Jun-seok reported assets including an apartment in Nowon-gu, Seoul, valued at 728 million won, and deposits amounting to 352 million 875 thousand won.
Additionally, candidates Kwon Young-guk of the Democratic Labor Party, Gu Ju-wa of the Liberty Unification Party, and independents Song Jin-ho and Hwang Kyo-ahn registered. Kwon reported assets of 2.5193 billion won, Gu reported 1.74119 billion won, Song reported 288.66 million won, and Hwang reported 3.31787 billion won.
In terms of criminal records, candidate Lee Jae-myung had three cases, Kwon had four cases, and Song had 17 cases.
According to the commission, candidates Lee Jun-seok, Gu, and Song completed their military service. Lee Jae-myung was deemed unfit for military service due to illness.
Candidate registration for the presidential election can be conducted from today until the 11th. The People Power Party is in the process of replacing candidates.
