People Power Party's Kim Moo-sung and Yoo Joon-sang, the party's senior advisers, announced on the 10th that they will end their hunger strike urging the unification of Kim Moon-soo, a candidate from the People Power Party, and Han Duck-soo, an independent presidential candidate.

Kim noted in a statement on that morning, “To block Lee Jae-myung's dictatorship and create a better Republic of Korea, we gathered the intention of the party's senior advisers and began the hunger strike together with 83-year-old adviser Yoo Joon-sang,” adding, “I earnestly appealed to the two candidates, Kim and Han, for unification before registration but have ultimately reached a situation where we cannot achieve a beautiful unification, and have decided to end the hunger strike.”

He said, “Although our bodies may stop, the will of the people and party members to protect the values of the Republic of Korea remains unchanged,” and expressed gratitude to those who were concerned and offered support.

They began a hunger strike demanding unification on the 7th at the People Power Party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul.
