The People Power Party has confirmed Kim Moon-soo as its presidential candidate through a party member vote, while former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo noted, "I will humbly accept the will of the people and party members."

The former Prime Minister's side stated in a news release that they sincerely hope Kim Moon-soo and the People Power Party will win in this presidential election, adding, "Thank you for all your interest, support, criticisms, and feedback provided so far."

Additionally, they added that they will promptly inform as soon as the schedule for future events such as press conferences is decided.

Earlier that afternoon, the People Power Party conducted a party-wide vote to reselect the former Prime Minister as its presidential candidate, and the result was a rejection.

As a result, the candidacy qualifications of Kim Moon-soo, whose eligibility had been revoked, were immediately restored. The former Prime Minister, who had applied to be the presidential candidate for the People Power Party, can no longer run.

Shin Dong-uk, the chief spokesperson, explained during a briefing immediately after the emergency countermeasure committee meeting, "Although I cannot reveal the figures from today's party member vote, the survey regarding the re-selection of the candidate has been rejected by a narrow margin."
