Han Duck-soo, a presidential candidate, said on the 10th regarding the unification process with People Power Party's Kim Moon-soo, "I apologize for causing inconvenience to the public, regardless of the circumstances or who was at fault."

Candidate Han noted in an interview with Yonhap News TV that, "In the process of discussing unification, my argument to promote the anti-tactical voting clause conflicted with the opposing argument to eliminate it, and as a result, it seems that the party took the initiative in promoting the unification."

In response to claims from candidate Kim's side that there was communication with the party leadership during the unification process, he stated, "Such a thing is impossible" and added, "I believe all the rules related to the primary were made with the party at the center."

Candidate Han's side and candidate Kim's side held two rounds of unification negotiations the day before but could not narrow their differences, leading the leadership of the People Power Party to cancel Kim's candidacy for the presidential election early that morning. Shortly thereafter, candidate Han joined the party and began the candidate registration process.
