Han Duck-soo, a presidential candidate, joined the People Power Party on the 10th and said, “I am not a mercenary who suddenly came from outside.”

Following his entrance into the party, Han noted in a publicly released letter to party comrades, “Over the past 3 years, I have fought alongside you at the forefront of state affairs against the rampage of the opposition.”

Han stated, “Whenever the National Assembly opens, and whenever the impeachment vote is passed, the members of the People Power Party have been my most reliable policy partners and supporters,” and added, “When the opposition party members pushed all sorts of unreasonable policies solely with the power of numbers, the members and supporters of the People Power Party physically blocked the legislative dictatorship of the opposition.”

He continued, “As of today, we are no longer partners or supporters but family,” saying, “With one heart and one body, we must revive the economy, protect liberal democracy, and safeguard South Korea.”

He added, “We must win in this presidential election. Differences are not important for victory,” and emphasized, “If we unite, we can surely win. For ourselves and for future generations, we must win. Only if we win is there a future for South Korea.”

Han remarked, “My goal is simple: That the miracle does not end here, that South Korea must continue to move forward, and that is all,” arguing, “I believe that is the will of the people and the wish of the party comrades.”

He emphasized, “We must all scramble together toward the urgent goal of reviving the economy through political change,” stating, “The command of the party members, the command of the people, the command of the times.”

He added, “I believe that all our party candidates and supporters, including Candidate Kim Moon-soo, Candidate Han Dong-hoon, Candidate Hong Joon-pyo, and Candidate Ahn Cheol-soo, will share my sentiments,” stating, “I have already let go of everything. We must all move forward together.”
