The Democratic Party of Korea plans to launch a fund called 'Lee Jae-myung Fund' worth 35 billion won to cover election expenses for candidate Lee Jae-myung. They are preparing to establish the fund, targeting as early as the 20th.
Cho Seung-rae, spokesperson for the election campaign committee, noted on the 9th, "We are preparing to launch the Lee Jae-myung Fund on the 20th or 21st of this month," adding that "we are discussing raising around 35 billion won."
The Democratic Party previously launched the 'Lee Jae-myung Fund' using NFTs during the 2022 presidential election. It achieved its target amount of 35 billion won within two hours of its opening. Cho, the spokesperson, stated, "The fund is being created with public participation while conducting the election campaign," emphasizing the aim of engaging with citizens and securing election funds stably.
The official election campaign period begins on the 12th. The Democratic Party announced that as of this day, it has completed the formation of the election committee in 17 metropolitan cities and provinces. Spokesperson Cho noted, "Every day during the election period is a critical and important time, condensing the experiences of 50 million citizens of South Korea," and emphasized that "Candidate Lee and the election committee will listen to the opinions of the people."
